Writing a great business advert is not difficult if you remember to try and incorporate key words and phrases that help to sell. Most people do not like reading adverts so it is important that you grab their attention right away so that they are compelled to click on your marketing material and read more.
Your headline (and subheading) should either immediately let people know what you are marketing or alternative they can be a teaser that draws your audience in. When I write an advertisement I sometimes spend just as much time on the headline as I do on the rest of the text.
Most people are searching for a quick fix solution to whatever ails them. If your headline manages to offer them a credible solution then at the very least you have managed to persuade them to read the rest of your advertisement.
Great words & phrases you can use in the headline include:
Genuine, easy, excellent, guaranteed, secret, immediately, risk free, special promotion, immediate benefit, save $s, zero-risk trial, try it out today, how to and, great offer, free trial.
Here are some killer headlines using the some of the above words and phrases:
How to Win Friends and Influence People

An Easy Way to Make Money Immediately
Never, ever try to trick the potential customer into reading your advert. If your title does not match the content then the prospects will feel that they been tricked and lose interest quickly.
When writing the actual advertisement use simple easy to understand words and try and get straight to the point as soon as possible. If your reader needs to use a dictionary to understand what product or service you are trying to sell then you will waste most of your advertising budget! Do not talk too much about the problems people face before showing them your solution as some of your prospects will not read the whole advertisement.
People love reading genuine testimonials so if you have space make sure you add some.
In the advertisement there should always be a call to action. If your advert is short then the best place is right at the end. If it is long then a good idea is to have it interspaced throughout the advert. If it is on the internet then have some “Click Here to Enquire Now” interspaced throughout the copy so that your prospects can send an inquiry as soon as they are convinced, without having to read the rest of your marketing material.
If at all possible include a free gift for everybody that sends in an enquiry. After all if they read some or all of your advertisement then chances are that they have a need for your product or service. The gift does not necessarily have to be expensive. It could be as simple and cost effective as a free PDF that talks about the problems that your product or service is trying to solve.
If after reading this article you are still unsure about how to write a great advertisement then perhaps it is time to find somebody else to do it for you.
